Atara Kane

Dr. Kane is a fellowship-trained, board-certified radiologist who completed a medical internship, followed by a four-year residency at Jackson Memorial Hospital/University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, with a fellowship in musculoskeletal radiology. After practicing for five years as a general radiologist at Mercy Hospital in Miami, Florida, she found her true passion in breast imaging and has specialized in breast imaging for the past 16 years, reading over 15,000 mammograms, breast ultrasounds, and MRIs yearly. In addition, she performs thousands of stereotactic and ultrasound-guided biopsies each year.

Dr. Kane has been instrumental in-patient education, speaking at numerous conferences regarding the importance of women’s health and cancer breast prevention. She continues to be at the forefront of technology in breast imaging and was instrumental in the FDA certification of breast tomosynthesis for one of the major vendors in breast imaging, as well as working with multiple PACS (picture archiving and communication system) vendors on improving system functionality and radiologist workflow(s).

Dr. Kane is married and a mother of three daughters, two dogs, and a cat. She is a runner, loves hiking, and generally all things outdoors in the mountains.
