Assistance to the Elderly and Residential Plaza at Blue Lagoon is following the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Florida Department of Health recommendations carefully. Our leadership is actively involved in workgroups in conjunction with the office of Mayor Carlos Jimenez to stay informed and bring optimal care to our residents.

(ASSISTED LIVING SERVICES)

Assistance to the Elderly, Inc. is a 501 (C) (3) non-profit organization that owns Residential Plaza at Blue Lagoon, a licensed assisted living community with a memory care program.

Residential Plaza provides an affordable home with assisted living services allowing older adults to live in a safe, caring and supportive environment while maintaining their dignity, independence, and purpose.

Residential Plaza offers ample solutions to overcome the challenges of aging, including housing, assisted living care, memory care, and short-term care.

Memory Care Program

Residential Plaza’s Memory Care Program provides an affordable 24-hour specialized care, based on the Montessori for Aging and Dementia Program, in a home-like environment for adults with Alzheimer’s disease and dementia-related disorders.

Our residents enjoy living in a home-like environment, surrounded by a safe and caring atmosphere; our personalized approach helps our residents to stay physically and socially engaged, improving their confidence and self-esteem.

Research has provided clear evidence that older adults affected by Alzheimer’s and dementia-related disorders experience a decrease in behaviors due to unmet needs and, increase their levels of engagement in activities when Montessori approaches are implemented.

Your contribution to the Memory Care Program will assist to provide ongoing training for our Staff on the Montessori for Aging and Dementia Program and ensure we give them all the resources to optimally implement the program to attain maximum results.

Rental Assistance Program

The Rental Assistance Program allows low-income older adults to afford rent in an assisted living environment enabling them to maintain their quality of life.

The Rental Assistance Program established in 2004 benefiting an average of 150 low-income older adults on a yearly basis.

Basado en la guía de las agencias locales de salud pública, el GRUPO DE APOYO PARA QUIENES CUIDAN A PERSONAS CON ALZHEIMER inicialmente planeado para el tercer martes de cada mes de 1:00 PM a 2:00 PM, no se ofrecerá en persona, sino virtualmente.

Our Partnerships support the philosophy and service program at Residential Plaza at Blue Lagoon. The Externship Program develops a multi-skill patient care service in a long-term care setting. All participating students gain actual on the job experience implementing the skills they have obtained.

Our Research partnerships bring care and services to our residents with a clinical objective in different identified areas where the residents benefit from a diverse and innovative approach.
